November 8, 2015 | British Customs
The motorcycle industry and community are both diverse and fairly small, but can sure as hell band together for a cause and make a big difference.
British Customs and CROIG have just teamed up with Riders for Health -- a charity that uses motorcycles to deliver life-saving medical supplies to rural communities in Africa -- to raise funds and awareness for their cause through the CROIG X BC custom motorcycle giveaway.
In sub-Saharan Africa, more than 60 per cent of people live in hard-to-reach rural communities, making accessibility to medical services and supplies almost impossible. But Riders for Health has found a solution: they outfit health professionals with motorcycles and other vehicles capable of reaching those communities, ensuring they can deliver the medical services and supplies directly and reliably. By providing training programs for technicians, mechanics, and fleet managers, Riders for Health is developing a lasting infrastructure for the region’s future.
In aid of Riders for Health’s cause, a one-of-a-kind CROIG X BC Edition 2015 Triumph Bonneville is going to be given away to one lucky winner. The bike is being customized by @CafeRacersOfInstagram with British Customs upgrades and some rad one-offs that they’re handmaking. The build was inspired by the community’s vote to have CROIG create a Mad Max-themed build, and that’s what they’re making. And they’re calling it “Furiosa,” after the lead character in the movie. Get stoked.
Outside of the rider community, motorcycles are often thought of as only being used for fun or transportation. But we want to show that they can be used for good, too. How often do you get a chance to make a global impact through your passion? Not very.
BC's goal is to raise $100,000 for Riders for Health. That’s not easily achieved though. They need you to get engaged and spread the word.
If you want to get involved, register to win the motorcycle, and make a donation to Riders for Health. And the more people involved the bigger the impact, so tell your buddies about Riders for Health too.
Build sweet bikes. Make a difference in the world. It’s win-win.
